Harvesting

Today was a digging kind of day and these pink fir apple potatoes were a 'free harvest' as they had grown themselves from last year instead of being planted. A lucky find amongst the ordinary potatoes I had planted this season. Excellent. I have enjoyed washing them to ready for them eating soon! I also had my first ever go at making chutney this week and it is rather delicious. It ranks up there with soup making in my kitchen favourite things to do. If it stores well I may well have found an extra hobby. I love this time of year which is lucky as I do not like winter,

catching up with the family

Nice to see my brother and his family during our summer breaks. I like the fact that they holiday in North Wales and we can visit them. This year we got to spend two lovely days together while away from the workplace and this was lovely.

Third time on a steam train

and Ronnie seems to be trying the food and drink now as well as the scenery. Half a pint with lunch can result in sleepiness though...
